While watching the excellent gay film The Sum of us I realised I had seen it’s co-star Jack Thompson a long time ago in Playboy magazine. He’s such a handsome man I thought I’d track down the picture to share.

“Comics Made Me Gay” is the NSFW comics essay form of a talk/presentation that gay erotic comics writer Dale Lazarov did at the 2012 Toronto Comics Art Festival. It’s got multiple safe and not safe for work images and language so use your best judgment about when and where to read it. It’s formatted in tablet-friendly 2048h x 1536w portrait dimensions.
“CMMG” illustrates and explains how and why the comics/sequential art form is uniquely suited for representing both the objective and subjective experience of homoeroticism. It features both panel excerpts and full comics page samples from classic superhero comics, from Tom of Finland gay erotic comics and from contemporary gay and gay erotic illustrators and cartoonists.
I believe this is Ivan Putski the professional wrestler… I had a thing for him growing up.

I posted the under drawing for this painting a while back.
When I work I normally lay out all the colour loosely so I know what’s going on with the whole composition.
After that I start on the face and pretty much finish it, then I move on to the chest… and so on.
Since the face is effectively finished I thought I’d post it as part of the work in progress.
